Speed Plastics, a specialist in high frequency welding, was delighted to welcome one of its customers, TST Sweden to its head office to meet the team.
Over the last year, Speed has been manufacturing key parts of TST’s Xtreme hood, a brand new chemical escape hood. These parts were then shipped back to Sweden to be assembled internally by the company. After delivering a great service, TST have now instructed Speed to oversee the full manufacturing and assembly of the product to allow them to expand their business in other areas.
“This is a lifesaving product so every aspect of its manufacturing and assembly needs to be built to the exact standards,” said Mats Svenbe of TST Sweden.
“For many years we have also done this in-house but now as our company grows, we want to be able to pass this on to a supplier like Speed Plastics who we have 150% faith in. The visit has been extremely reassuring as it has given us chance to fully understand their knowledge and expertise, and also finalise and agree assembly and packaging processes.”
The Xtreme escape hood is manufactured using polyester and cotton coated with PVC and offer protection against dangerous substances. The hood features a silicon face piece and exhaust valves, as well as a connector for the gas filter that is attached to the hood. It also comes with a soft carrying bag which is made from a strong, durable and water-resistant material. The bag can be worn on a belt, carried over the shoulder or round the waist and also features brackets for wall mounting.
